Each zodiac sign has its own set of characteristics, which differentiate that sign from the other. Horoscope is hence all about understanding the zodiac signs and thus predicting the future events according to the movement of the celestial bodies that cause the occurrence of a series of events in the life of a person.

The 12 Signs of Zodiac

There are 12 zodiac signs in total and they are ruled by four elements of Mother Nature. Starting from Aries, which is known to be the fiery first sign, is ruled by the element of Fire. Next in the league is Taurus, Gemini and so on. The last star sign, Pisces is known to be the zodiac sign of death (as opposed by Aries, which is the zodiac sign of birth). Pisces is ruled by the element, water.

How is a star sign determined?

star signs are generally determined by the date of birth of a person. The 12 months of a year correspond to the 12 zodiac signs that we have. The position of the sun and other planetary position determine the month of a particular sun sign. The very first sign in the zodiac cycle is Aries. A person is known to be an Aries if he is born in between

21st March and 20th April. The next zodiac sign in the cycle is Taurus. A person who is born within the period of April 21 to May 21 should be a Taurus. Each zodiac sign in the cycle covers a full period of 30 days. There are 10 more zodiac signs, which are Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

Ruling Planet and Element of individual star sign

Each star sign has its own ruling planet and ruling element. For example Aries and Scorpio are ruled by the Mars, where as Taurus and Libra are ruled by Venus. Leo is the only zodiac sign, which is ruled by the Sun. Cancer being the only one ruled by the moon. Fire, Earth, Air, and Water are the four elements, which are known to rule the individual zodiac signs starting from fire ruling Aries, earth ruling Taurus and so on.
